The PMI®, Project Management Institute, is a non-profit organization specialized in project management. The PMI® was established in the USA in 1969 by a team from the American aviation industry and its main goal is to improve the knowledge in project management, as a profession. The PMI® has over 274 branches that are located in more than 100 countries and has over 445,000 members. PMI® certifications:

• PMP® (Project Management Professional) is targeted mainly for managers, project managers, PMOs and system analysts and is very popular among industrial engineers. According to Dice (global HR company) last report, PMP is the most wanted certification in the project management field.   The purpose of this certification is to enable organization to execute projects successfully and make sure the project managers have the required knowledge and know how, project management wise. There are a set of requirements in order take the exam:
  1. Project management education: A course, training or a workshop in project management with at least 35 contact hours and one of the following requirements:

  1. 1. For holders of a 4 years academic 1st degree (bachelor's degree or a global equivalent) – a minimum experience of 36 months and 4,500 hours in leading projects tasks (please read the PMP Handbook, presenting the detailed requirements, on PMI® website).
     2. For secondary degree holders (high school diploma, associate's degree or global equivalent), a minimum experience of 60 months and 7,500 hours in leading projects tasks (please read the PMP Handbook, presenting the detailed requirements, on PMI® website).

  Advanced project management and PMP preparation course and also the shorter PMP Preparation Course by P.M. Team LTD are recognized by the PMI® for fulfilling condition 1 above, relating to the project management education requirement (according to category D in the PMP Handbook).

• PgMP ® (Program Management Professional) – the goal of this certification is to help program managers to become program managers experts.

     1. 4 years of experience in project management
     2. 4 years of experience in program management
  2. For secondary degree holders (high school diploma, associate's degree or global equivalent):
     1. 4 years of experience in project management
     2. 7 years of experience in program management
• PMI-SP® (PMI Scheduling Professional) is one of PMI's popular certifications intended for projects schedulers and allows managing the schedule professionally. This certification is required among many industries around the world.

  The minimum requirement to take the exam:

  1. For 1st degree holders (bachelor's degree or a global equivalent)– schedule management experience of at least 3,500 hours & at least 30 hours of academic schedule management education or by other non-academic courses.
  2. For secondary degree holders (high school diploma, associate's degree or global equivalent) – at least 5,000 if experience and 40 hours of education in project scheduling from academic or non-academic courses.

• PMI-RMP® (PMI Risk Management Professional) is related to risks management, risks identification and preparing contingency plan to handle them while exploiting opportunities. This certification is for those who are members of the project team and are responsible of the risks management issue. PMI-RMP is knows and highly appreciated around the world.

  The minimum requirement to take the exam:

  1. For 1st degree holders (bachelor's degree or a global equivalent)– risks management experience of at least 3,000 hours & at least 30 hours of academic risks management education or by other non-academic courses.
  2. For secondary degree holders (high school diploma, associate's degree or global equivalent) – at least 4,500 hours of experience and 40 hours of education in project risks management from academic or non-academic courses.

• CAPM® (Certified Associate in Project Management) certification is intendant for junior PMOs and project managers. Here you will learn the basics fundamental of project management to allow you effectively manage projects.

  The minimum requirements to take the exam are high school diploma & 1,500 hours of experience in project management and 23 contact hours of a project management course.
